Department of Recreation Indoor Soccer Program     Posted 10/20/09

Please let me know NO LATER than Friday, October 30th
if you want to participate in the program described below

Hello Fox Chase Coaches.  It is that time of year already where I need to submit commitments from teams who plan on participating in the Philadelphia Department of Recreation.  There are many pros and cons to participating in this league depending on your team needs.

The biggest PRO is...Cost..only $150 for league plus $13 per game referee fees

The biggest CON is that it's travel and the gyms /goals are various sizes.  Some people would say the use of the boards rather than touch line is also a con.  Others, really enjoy the added factor and speed of the game.

If you would like to register, please contact Todd Corabi via email (tcorabi@yahoo.com) NO LATER than Friday, October 30th .

If you are an outdoor team for PDR, please just let me know what level you are requesting if it's possible to split your age group into different levels (A-B-C)  Often, levels are placed together with separate playoffs.

Everyone else....

Give me your name,
team name,
age group,
level requested,
address,
phone number
and email...
then...the contact information for at least 1 assistant coach too

NOTE:

We have spots for 18 teams to be given the minimum home time slots.  Teams will be entered on a first come basis with the exception of these preferences:

1) Preference for entering will be given to teams currently in PDR outdoor

2) Preference for splitting teams will go by older teams first then trickle down if time is available upon request.

3) Teams that have used all of their allocated money need to submit a check to Fox Chase Soccer Club in the amount of $150 so that when Bob Fitzmartin writes the Department of Recreation check, Fox Chase gets their refund

PDR has been encourageing email rather than U.S. postal mail for correspondance.   Traditionally, 1st contact between age group coordinators and coaches has been via regular mail.  I was just told that some of you will be getting your first contact and receiving schedules from your age group coordinators via email this year  Please make a daily effort, if you don't already, to not only check your email but also your spam or bulk mail folders just in case your email program filters it into there.

If you do not receive a schedule either in U.S. postal mail or via email by Friday, September 4th, please let me know.
Thanks

Reminder:  Girls registration is Thursday 7:00-9:00 at
Holmesburg Plgd. – Rhawn & Ditman Sts

Hello PDR coaches:Posted 8/23/09

You should have received a letter from Club President Jim Tracey concerning a few "to do's" for the upcoming fall season.  Included, were directions about forwarding schedules:
1.      Submit league schedules to your FCSC field coordinator, Len Cooney, as soon as you receive it, so he can verify conflicts and generate the home field schedule.  All home makeup games must go through, Len and your FCSC league director.
2.      Team referee money will not be released until all rostered players pay the FC SC registration fee.  Email your league and number of games to Bob FitzMartin and he’ll mail you check for your ref fees.

For Department of Recreation teams:
You should receive your schedule in the mail sometime between Wednesday, August 26th and Friday, September 4th.  It will however, most likely come during Labor Day week.  It will arrive in U.S. Postal mail along with a letter from your age group coordinator.
Please pay close attention to the letter as each coordinator has their own preferences in things like how to report scores, communication (phone vs email), etc.

When you get your schedule, EMAIL me and Bob Fitzmartin a copy of it.
Bob's email=  bobfitzma1@aol.com (which is #2 on Jim's list)

I will complete the field allocation sheet for Department of Recreation and forward that to Len Cooney as in the past.  He is able to just cut and paste onto his master sheet with ease and then we both have copies.

If there is a conflict due to a mistake your age group coordinator made, I'll let you know.

REMINDER:  Check your dates for registration

1st Girls registration is Thursday, August 27th.
